Many people with migraine headaches rely greatly on pharmaceuticals to manage the pain. But migraine medication comes with a very long list of negative effects, including dizziness, vomiting, nausea, and even more head aches when the drug is overused.
Fortunately, there are natural treatments accessible to alleviate migraines without the negative effects of drugs. A new study indicates that massage and chiropractic adjustments could provide significant relief from migraines.
The treatment administered included in the research involved chiropractic adjustments of the neck and upper back, and extending, gentle massage. The treatment itself provided fast-acting relief. The average patient’s pain scores dropped from 5 to 0.5 as a result of the treatment. There were no important side effects reported by the participants.
Additional research should be run to fully understand the changing causes of migraines. This study adds to previous research by showing that chiropractic treatments could be an effective treatment for many migraine patients.
